HDMI Information

HDMI, or High-Definition Multimedia Interface, has become the de facto standard for home theater connectivity. It combines the pure digital signal of DVI with 8-channels of audio providing you with a seamless solution.

We discuss some popular HDMI switching and HDMI splitting technologies and what an HDMI matrix is for - this show is a must-listen for any home theater enthusiast.

Matrox DualHead2Go

The Matrox DualHead2Go is another solution for adding additional monitors to your laptop. The DualHead2Go connects to your existing VGA-out port on your laptop and splits it into two VGA ports. With the included software you can use your existing laptop screen and the two additional monitors. You can extend your desktop onto the three screens for maximum productivity.

EV-DO WiFi Router

The EV-Do WiFi Hotspot Router allows you to create your own personal hotspot anywhere you go with an EV-DO card from a major carrier (Sprint, Verizon, etc.). EV-DO bursts up to 2 Mbps and generally averages 500-800K - not too bad for current wireless broadband specifications.

When you are not in range of the EV-DO network you can use the 1xRTT network which operates at about 100K (twice the speed of dial-up).

This is a great product for anybody who travels a lot, construction companies who require internet access onsite or frequent tradeshow exhibitors.

The VTBook - a DVI card for your laptop

The VTbook DVI PCMCIA Card allows you to add a DVI port to any laptop through the PCMCIA (CardBus) slot. The card also includes a DVI to VGA adapter if you would like to add an additional VGA monitor rather than a DVI-enabled monitor.

The VTBook will “play nice” with your built-in VGA port on your laptop allowing you to use three displays (including your existing laptop screen). Your desktop can either be mirrored to show the exact same thing on all the displays, or you can extend your desktop with the included software.

For even more desktop space you can add an optional dual-head adapter which will convert the DVI port on the VTBook to 1 DVI-out and one VGA-out, allowing you to use 4 displays total.
